About Colbert Collaborative Therapy in Ithaca, NY

Hi, I’m Taylor, and I’m the founder of Colbert Collaborative Therapy, a psychotherapy practice in Ithaca, NY. I work with women and people who were assigned female at birth, and I also support clients going through life changes, anxiety or depression, or the weight of past experiences. I offer sessions in person in Ithaca and by telehealth across New York State.

As a psychotherapist and mental health counselor (LMHC) with over six years of experience, I bring both structure and flexibility to our work, with a focus on helping you find your voice, set boundaries, and make choices that match your values. My approach is integrative, using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and skills-based mindfulness to build coping skills and manage symptoms. I also use an insight-focused, psychodynamic lens to look at longer patterns, so we can support both day-to-day needs and long-term change, whether we meet in my Ithaca office or online.

How I Work With PMDD, Endometriosis, and Women’s Mental Health

I shape therapy around your needs, goals, and energy level, with a clear plan for what you want help with most. I take symptoms seriously—especially for clients who have felt dismissed—and we’ll focus on both the day-to-day tools and the deeper patterns that make things harder. Over time, my goal is to help you feel more steady, more supported, and more able to make choices that match your values—whether we meet in person in Ithaca or through telehealth in New York.

  • Clear session focus to keep your main concerns at the center
  • CBT tools for anxiety, low mood, shame, and unhelpful habits
  • DBT skills for strong emotions, urges, and relationship stress
  • Mindfulness and pacing to support stress, pain, and flare days
  • Support with medical care (planning, sorting advice, coping with dismissal)
  • Space for identity and loss when symptoms change your life
  • Plans for hard days so you have tools ready when symptoms spike

My Focus

I offer therapy for three main areas: (1) Women’s mental health for those assigned female at birth (PMDD, endometriosis, PCOS, perimenopause, and related concerns), (2) Activist therapy for people involved in social justice work who are facing burnout, trauma, and pressure from the current political climate, and (3) Conflict resolution for couples and also for organizations or business partners dealing with codependency, outside stressors, and interpersonal conflict. These services are available in person in Ithaca and through telehealth for clients across New York State.

How I Work

I meet you where you are, offering a gentle push to go deeper when that helps and slowing down to listen and support you when you need it. We’ll talk about your goals early on and check in often, so your feedback helps shape our work together.

Our First Session

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other, and I’ll ask questions about your values, how you think, what you want from life and relationships, and what’s been getting in the way. Together, we’ll start naming goals and mapping out what would feel most helpful, whether we meet in my Ithaca office or online. My aim is to offer supportive space while we build practical tools for healthier communication, stronger boundaries, and real change.

If you are ready to see what therapy could look like for you, I would be glad to talk. I’m looking forward to meeting you. Contact Colbert Collaborative Therapy at 607-388-6408} or schedule a consultation to find out whether working together is a good fit.
